In addition to its anti-anxiety and pain-relieving effects, CBD oil has also been shown to improve sleep. A small 2010 study found that CBD improved sleep quality in people with insomnia (11). CBD oil may also help reduce sleepiness during the day in people with narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that causes daytime sleepiness (12). CBD oil is generally well-tolerated, and side effects are rare. However, some people may experience dry mouth, lightheadedness, and drowsiness. CBD oil should be used with caution if you are taking medications that are broken down by the liver.
